What are the 5 best Pubs Near Amex Stadium?

The New Oak

Right, listen up, away supporters. If you’re ever in Brighton for a match, you’ve got to check out The New Oak. It’s a cracking pub that’s just a 3-mile journey away from the Amex Stadium, around a 6 minute drive, or a quick 9-minute train ride if you’re not up for the walk. They’re well up for having a mix of fans, home and away, so it’s an electric atmosphere on match day.

Now, let me tell you, this ain’t just your typical footie pub. The grub here is top-notch – I’m talking Sunday roast-level good. The desserts are so good they’ll have you thinking about ’em at halftime. And the best part? There’s also a large car park, perfect if you’re heading to the match by car. Be sure to check out our Brighton and Hove Albion Car Parking Guide for other suitable options.

All in all, I’d give The New Oak a solid 10/10. If you’re in town for a game, it’s definitely worth dropping in before or after the match at the Amex Stadium. Trust me, this is one of the best Brighton away pubs.

The Basketmasters

Now let me point you towards a proper gem: The Basketmasters. It’s this artsy little pub that’s only a 4 mile trek from the Amex Stadium, about a 20-minute train ride if you can’t be bothered to walk. And get this, they’ve got a coach service to the ground for just four quid. Not half bad, right?

Now, onto the good stuff. The Basketmasters is not just about the beers, although they’ve got plenty from all over the globe. The food selection is bang on and the décor is just class. It’s a cosy spot, nice for a sit and a chill with a cold beer on a hot day before the game.. Staff are friendly as anything, they made me feel very welcome.

I got a pint of Amstel for just a fiver, and the atmosphere was great before the match. I mean, what more could you want, really? Good beer, good grub, and a quick ride to the Premier League match. Give it a go next time you’re in town, you won’t regret it. The Basketmasters is a top find, one of my favourites for both home and away supporters.

The Swan Inn

For those of you lucky enough to be cheering on the home side in Brighton (they’ve been a bit good in 2023), I’ve got a treat for you: The Swan Inn. It’s a good old-fashioned local pub, the kind that feels like stepping back in time. So much so, you’ll probably get a bit nostalgic.

Now, let’s talk about the grub. It’s all homemade, served up in generous portions that’ll have you sorted to line the stomach before some pre-match pints. I mean, the food is so tasty, it’s like your nan’s Sunday roast (disclaimer: as long as she’s not over 90). And don’t get me started on the staff – so welcoming.

You’ll find The Swan Inn is a stone’s throw from the Falmer Train Station, if you’re heading to the game via train. The atmosphere is great on match day, but it does fill up quickly and can get pretty crammed sometimes.

If you’re looking for traditional and country pubs near Amex Stadium, it’s only a short 5 minute walk from the stadium. It’s one of the best pubs near Brighton Station, and the stadium.
