So, what are our Top 7 Nottingham Forest Parking Tips?

Pre-booked Parking Spaces

My best tip for any football away day is to be organised (which I struggle with myself!). Unfortunately Nottingham Forest FC don’t offer any pre-booked car parking options. Luckily, there are a variety of websites that offer pre-booked spaces in any city in the UK.

My personal favourite is JustPark, which shows a variety of parking spaces around the City Ground with their price. The majority of these are on-street parking spaces or on peoples drives around the city. I’ve used JustPark for around 3 years now and, from my experience, the earlier you book, the better the price! Usually pricing is between £5-£10.

YourParkingSpace also offers spaces across the City Centre. Nottingham has a number of public transport options. From trams to buses, I’ve always found it easy to navigate around the city and to the City Ground.

Free Parking

If you’re travelling on a budget, finding free parking can be hard. As an lifelong Nottingham Forest fan, I’ve never paid for parking once. Your best bet is to head into West Bridgford, this postcode should take you there: NG2 5BL.

There are loads of side streets that allow on-street parking. The further you head away from the stadium, the more spaces you’ll find. I’ve parked in this area hundreds of times and it’s usually around a 10-15 minute walk from the stadium, perfect to soak in some pre-match atmosphere on the way to the City Ground!

Avoid heading to close to the stadium and the Trent Bridge area, as they get extremely busy, matchday or not.

Lady Bay Sports Ground

The Nottingham Rugby Club is located around a 5 minute walk away from the City Ground. If you don’t mind paying a little (or a lot) extra for convenience, then the Rugby Club is your best option. At £10 a space, it’s certainly pricey.

The Lady Bay Pub is also just down the road. If you’re looking for a pre-match pint, be sure to check out our guide on the best pubs near the City Ground.

Park & Ride

If you’re heading into Nottingham from the North, then you should head to Toton Lane Park and Ride. With free parking and only a £2 ticket on the tram, it can’t really be beaten on price.

From personal experience, it’s usually a 15-20 minute journey into Nottingham. However, the trams can get extremely busy on matchday, but if you don’t mind cramming into a packed tram, then it’s a great option.

Nottingham Railway Station

Located around a 15 minute walk from the City ground, the train station offers a secure multi-storey car park. At around £4 a ticket, it’s one of the best options for parking near the City Ground. Especially if you are meeting other fans at the station. This Nottingham Forest Parking option is great in terms of security, cars are monitored 24/7 by CCTV.

How Early Should You Arrive at the City Ground?

If you’re looking to park as close to the City Ground as possible, you should be looking to get there at least an hour and a half before kick-off. The area around the ground can get very busy, so you may struggle to find suitable parking if you leave it any later.

From my own experience, arriving into West Bridgford and parking on Radcliffe road at around an our before kick-off works best, but as with all football away days, traffic and parking on the day is always a gamble! Leaving yourself with plenty of time before kick-off is a necessity, especially if you are still needing to visit the ticket office.

Goodluck with your Nottingham Forest Parking!

I hope these tips and various car parks help when visiting the City Ground! Our best advice would be to pre-book a space or to utilise the tram network whether you are coming from the City Centre or a different direction.

Once again, organisation is key! As with all Premier League teams, matchdays are always extremely busy. So, plan ahead when visiting the East Midlands giants. Above all, have a great time, stay safe and goodluck with your Nottingham Forest parking!
