So, where is the best King Power Stadium Parking?

JustPark

If you’re an experienced traveller like myself, I’m sure you’ve heard of JustPark before. Pre-booked parking space near the ground, what’s not to like? For those of you who’ve not heard of JustPark (have you been living under a rock – only joking), it’s pretty simple.

You just enter the place you’re looking to park near, and it’ll display a map with available parking spaces nearby. Some of these are car parks, or driveaways people are renting out.

As an avid user myself, I use it all the time for my football away days. You’d be looking to pay between £10-£20 for a matchday parking spot – which isn’t too bad… My top tip would be to book as far in advance as possible for the best deals.

Just Park near King Power

Filbert Street

If you’re looking for an official and secure place to park, the Filbert Street car park is Leicester City’s official spot. However, at £18 per car it’s certainly not cheap. But, if money isn’t a problem for you, this car park is located just 5 minutes away from the ground – making it a great choice.

Having personally parked here once or twice, I’ve got no complaints (apart from the damage to my bank account…). It’s secure with 24/7 monitoring in place. I would suggest either leaving slightly early from the game, or having an extra pint at a pub near the King Power Stadium after the game because there can be lengthy queues after the game.

Park & Ride

Leicester is home to 3 park & ride stations, which operate from 7am-7pm Mon-Sat, ruling them out as an option for later kick-offs and Sunday matches. Parking is free here, with a bus ticket costing you £3 which makes this one of the best budget options.

For more information on the three park and rides, click here. All buses drop you in the City Centre which is then a short walk to the stadium, so it is up to you which station to park at depending on where you are travelling from. Overall, this is a great option that I’ve used multiple times and never had any problems with.

NCP Welford Road

Located a 15-20 minute walk away from the KP, this NCP is home to 550 car parking spaces, with 5 disabled spots. The standard pricing is £17.80 for 3 to 4 hours which should cover you for matchday. You can get it slightly cheaper if you purchase on the app or book season tickets.

It’s secure, in a good location with pubs in the surrounding area so it’s one of my favourite spots if other places are fully parked up. I would recommend arriving a bit earlier here, especially for a Saturday kick-off as you’ll be competing with local shoppers for a spot.

If you’re looking for free parking near King Power Stadium I’d recommend heading to Shakespeare street off Saffron Lane. There’s usually plenty of free spaces and you can avoid the traffic on the way out. It’s around a 15 minute walk from the ground.

Other options are the Leicester Tigers Rugby Club (LE2 7TR). It costs £10 per car and is around a 10 minute walk from the ground. Another on-street parking near King Power Stadium is just off Narborough Road.
