5 Best Selhurst Park Parking Spots for Matchdays in 2024!

selhurst park parking

Discovering the perfect Selhurst Park parking spots can make all the difference when attending a Crystal Palace FC Premier League match. In this blog post, we’ll dive into the best car parking near Selhurst Park Stadium providing you with valuable insights and recommendations from personal experience.

Arriving at the stadium blindly can be stressful, especially with road closures and limitations in place on matchday. So, before we kick-off, check out the map below to familiarise yourself with the location of the Crystal Palace Stadium:

So, where are the best Selhurst Park Parking spots?

Street parking near Selhurst Park

The majority of the street parking options near the stadium are resident-only or blocked off on matchdays. Some fans have had success following Whitehorse Lane to South Norwood Hill which is opposite to Howden Road where there are a few spots available to park on matchdays.

Aukland Road is also another option if you’re looking for street parking. However, I wouldn’t recommend street parking as my first choice, the traffic in the area is always bad and finding a spot isn’t always likely. But, if you do manage to find a spot, it’s a pay and display operated system with a 4 hour limit – don’t get a ticket!

JustPark

As an avid user of JustPark, I can’t recommend it enough – especially when visiting London-based football club stadiums where the number of car parks are limited. It’s simple to use – you simply enter where you’re heading too and it will display a number of parking spots in the area you can pre-book.

Use the link below to navigate you to the JustPark website to see available Selhurst Park parking. From using it myself when visiting this iconic ground, prices are usually between £10-£20, but I recommend booking your spot as early as possible to get a cheaper price. Also take into consideration where the road closures are on matchdays, which you can find more about here.

Sainsbury's Car Park

Located right next to the stadium itself, Sainsbury’s car park is free of charge and spot I’ve used in the past. Due to being located next to the stadium, you have to arrive here early due to the roads being closed 2-3 hours before kick-off.

However, if you don’t mind arriving early and checking out the pubs around Selhurst Park, then it’s a great spot for those of you who are working on a budget and looking for parking near Crystal Palace stadium! The roads also stay closed for around an hour after the match to allow pedestrians to exit the area safely.

Iceland

Around a 15 minute walk away from the stadium, this Iceland is a spot I’ve been recommended by lifelong visitors at the Crystal Palace Ground. Holding only 20 spaces, you can’t get here early enough.

At £4 for 6 hours of parking, it’ll cover you for the whole of matchday at a very reasonable price. However, once again, I recommend arriving here as early as possible and checking out the area to kill some time.

Purley Oaks Station

If you don’t mind utilising public transport, then parking at Purley Oaks Station and taking the 15 minute train journey to Thorton Heath station is a great idea. At £2.15 for all day parking at the station and then a small fee for the train fare, it’s also a budget friendly option.

Be aware of train delays and strikes which may affect your journey. I’ve personally parked at this spot a few times and never had any problems – the pre-match atmosphere on the train gets you in the mood for the match. This is definitely a great Crystal Palace stadium parking spot.
