So, where are the best Ashton Gate Parking options?
JustPark
Due to Resident Parking Schemes in the area, you’ll struggle to find street parking near Ashton Gate Stadium that won’t land you with a fine. Because of this, I’d recommend checking out an online booking platform like JustPark for your Ashton Gate stadium parking.
I’ve used it myself when visiting Ashton Gate before and there’s quite a few options of people renting out driveways near the ground which can be very handy. You’ll be looking to pay between £5-10 for a spot – which isn’t too bad!
Beware of the Clean Air Zones in and around Bristol where certain vehicles can be charged quite a sum – check out more about that here so you avoid racking up a big bill (save money for the pints!).
DJ Matchday Parking
A popular spot for travelling fans is DJ Matchday Parking. Located between a 5-10 minute walk from the ground, it’s a pretty large car park with around 400 spaces. They charge £10 per car for matchday parking. If you’re travelling down with fellow fans, this isn’t too bad split between 4 or 5 of you. I’d definitely recommend checking out their Facebook page as it has some great information such as opening times for the car park etc.

YourParkingSpace
Similar to JustPark, YourParkingSpace is an online booking platform for car parks. Bristol City F.C. recommend using Winterstoke Road Car Park, which is a pay & display car park operated by YourParkingSpace.
You can pay on arrival or use YourParkingSpace to book a spot in advance. I’ve parked here a few times and never had any trouble. It does get pretty busy so I would recommend booking in advance beforehand if you’ve got the time. You can do this using the link below:

Bedminster Cricket Club
Located around a 10 minute walk from the stadium is Bedminster Cricket Club which is another popular spot for travelling fans. Due to it’s location and cheap £5 price, this car park fills up pretty quickly so I’d advise getting down here as early as possible if you do choose to park here.

Public Transport
From years of following football, I’ve always found public transport to be really useful. Now I know you’re here because you’re looking to drive to the game, but don’t discount making the most of the options available to you, especially when visiting areas limited parking.
Ashton Gate is a well connected area, particularly with buses. I won’t detail all the bus routes here, so check out the official website and information here.
There’s a wide variety of parking options on these bus routes, so it may be easier and cheaper to park outside of Bristol City Centre, and then catch the bus to the stadium.

If you arrive earlier enough to the area, you may be able to find a spot on Ashton Road itself, although I wouldn’t bank on this as it’s hit and miss. Another Ashton Gate free parking option is on Raynes Road.
What time should I arrive on matchday?
From my experience travelling all over, my rule-of-thumb is always to arrive at least 2 hours before kick-off on your football away day. This ensures you’ll find a parking spot, avoid traffic and have time to enjoy a pre-match pint!
Is parking safe at Ashton Gate Stadium?
From my personal experience, I’ve never had any troubles parking at or around Ashton Gate. However, I would recommend parking in a car park if possible – as these are usually monitored throughout the duration of the game.
