So, what are the Best Pubs near Old Trafford?
Hotel Football
Located opposite Old Trafford, Hotel Football is an amazing option for a pre-match pint if you’re a United Fan. The sports bar offers a variety of draught beer and a selection of match-day food! As you’ve probably guessed from the name, you can also book a room if you’re looking to stay at a hotel on match-day.
Decorated with Manchester United memorabilia, this pub is sure to get you in the mood for seeing The Reds play! The pre-match experience here is slightly “posher” than an experienced football fan may be used too, but it’s a great place to soak up the atmosphere. Be sure to get down early as it fills up quickly!
I’ve personally been to Hotel Football a couple times, and in terms of atmosphere and vibes, you won’t find any pubs near Old Trafford better than this.

The Bishop Blaize
This Wetherspoons in Stretford is another top choice for any Manchester United devotee. Cheap drinks, cheap food: what more can you ask for? There’s always a great pre-game atmosphere in here.
Since it’s demolition in 1863, this Greater Manchester pub has been revitalised and is now the perfect place to watch the pre-game buildup on it’s variety of sports screens. Once again, this pub fills up quickly on match-day so be sure to get down early to secure your spot! Manchester United pubs don’t get much better than this.

Matchstick Man
This Hungry Horse Pub, located in Salford, is a great choice for someone who loves a Beer Garden (who doesn’t!). Whether you’re heading to the game or looking for somewhere to watch it, this pub is the one for you. Live sport and a great selection of drinks & food. What more can you ask for?
There’s a wide range of your standard pub food on offer (to help soak up some of the booze). It’s located right next to the Salford Quay Tram spot so is in a convenient location for those heading to Old Trafford. Unlike other pubs near Old Trafford, Matchstick Man allows in away fans as well – making it one of the best pubs near Old Trafford for football away days.

Lime
If you’re looking for somewhere a bit more up-market before heading to Old Trafford, this restaurant & bar is a great shout. They have a great lineup of beers on draught as well as an excellent selection of food. From Asian Street Food to your standard Bangers & Mash, there’s something for everyone.
For those who enjoy being outside, their heated terrace makes a great spot to catchup with fellow fans pre or post match. It’s even better on a nice warm day. With more than enough Sports TVs and a great selection of drinks, there’s no reason not to visit here. It really is one of the best Man United pubs in Manchester.
I’ve visited Lime a few times and I’ve never been disappointed. The food is some of the best “pub” grub in Manchester. If you’re looking for a pub near Old Trafford that serves quality food with a great ambience, Lime is the one.

The Quadrant
In terms of location, The Quadrant can’t be beaten. A short 5 minute walk to Old Trafford is all it takes which is ideal if you’ve had one too many pre-game pints! Beer garden, Live Music, Live Sports… what more can you ask for? Oh yeah, also a great selection of drinks!
Probably our favourite match-day pub if you’re looking to soak up some match-day buzz. Whether you’re staying to watch the game or heading to Old Trafford, this Joseph Holt pub is definitely an amazing shout.

Tollgate
Located around a 20 minute walk away from the Theatre of Dreams, Tollgate is a lively pub come matchday.
It’s home to a strong selection of beers & IPA’s. And for those of you with a sweet tooth, there’s always some great cocktails on offer.
I’ve only been here a couple times, but the atmosphere is always buzzing. Entrance does require a match-day ticket, so make sure to have that with you. Definitely a place to check out.

Gorse Hill
If you’re looking for a lively pub on matchdays, Gorse Hill is the spot. While a lot of United fans do drink here, I’ve heard it welcomes away fans aswell – aslong as behaviour is good. As with all football pubs, I’d avoid wearing team-colours till you get to the ground.
I won’t lie, this isn’t a 10/10 establishment. But, if you’re looking for decent drinks, good atmosphere and just your standard pub, this place is for you.
It’s around a 15 minute walk away from the ground, so isn’t too far.
